Chairman’s Ball Honors Chamber Directors
Texas Citizens Bank VP / Relationship Manager J.P. Morris recently buttoned up his tux and straightened his bow tie to attend the 56th Annual Chairman’s Ball. There, the Clear Lake Area Chamber of Commerce recognized him and other outgoing directors for their three years of service.
Clear Lake Area Service
Due to another director relocating, J.P.’s service on the Clear Lake Area board of directors started a few months before his three-year term. At the time, he was also serving as chairman of the Young Professionals Division of the Chamber and as Chairman for Leadership Clear Lake. He now serves as Dean of Leadership Clear Lake.
“Leadership Clear Lake was an invaluable experience that helped me to identify and improve upon my leadership skill set, establish long-lasting relationships with classmates, and learn from some of the most influential leaders in our area. As a result, I have become a stronger leader within my company, within the Chamber of Commerce, and within the community.” – J.P. Morris, Executive Board of Directors, Vice President / Relationship Manager, Texas Citizens Bank
Chamber Progress
In his final year on the board of directors, he served on the executive committee of the chamber. This committee included the chairman, chairman elect, past chairman, and select vice chairs. As vice chair of membership, J.P.’s primary responsibility centered on developing strategies designed to attract and retain chamber members. Together, the executive committee worked to guide the direction of the chamber. Earlier this year, the chamber launched a new website. Improvements to the flow and design make the website more inviting to new and potential chamber members seeking more information.
Outside Volunteer Work
J.P. is extremely active in the local community. In addition to his service in the Bay Area, he also volunteers with the Houston Football Association.
